Not bad not bad. The Spreadfirefox team reports that Firefox 1.0 has been downloaded more than 20 million times since it’s release! What a nice number. I encourage anyone to download and at least test it – I made the switch back when Firefox was still Firebird and I’ve never looked back!

(NFL) Steelers 27-41 Patriots
The AFC Championship seems to be already decided at half-time?! Patriots 24-3 Steelers
I guess there’s no way that Pittsburgh will come back from 3 TDs down…which gives me the chance to get some sleep (1:56am here)…
Update: So Pittsburgh came back a little after all, but they weren’t able to come back for good.
So, congrats to the Pats – AFC Champions 2004.
Superbowl time in 2 weeks, Feb. 6th 2005 – Jacksonville: Philadelphia Eagles vs. New England Patriots
(NFL) Eagles 27-10 Falcons
A superb defensive performance and some nice offensive moves, too. Very well deserved.
NFC Champions 2004 Philadelphia Eagles
See you in Jacksonville…
Next on is Pittsburgh vs. New England for the AFC Championship…(should I really watch a game that starts at 0:30am /my timezone, GMT+1/ ?! Ah well, I’ll watch at least the first quarter half
Indoor footie tournament
Update: I didn’t have the chance to post via my mobile phone…so here’s a quick wrap-up:
Won the first match 2-1
Won the second match 4-1 (I scored the 1-0)
Lost the remaining 5 matches, some of them due to dumb mistakes in the last seconds (you shouldn’t lose a match if you’ve got the ball and there’s only 7 seconds left on the clock).
All in all, not a bad day as we were the lowest ranked team in the tournament (usually our first team, which is playing 3 leagues above us, is playing this tournament).
End Update
Alrighty, it’s indoor footie time today. We’re playing the “Bottwartal-Turnier” today which puts all active soccer teams of the nearer surroundings up against each other. I just set up email-posting, hopefully you will have the chance to see my posts I will make during the day (via Email from my mobile phone)

Age of Mythology – Game 6
Alright, we were at it again. It was one of the most interesting games with an abrupt end when Ralf built “the wonder”. Nico almost could have built the wonder, me too…so it was really close and Kai almost won too due to his temple which he used to buy himself some winning points. Sixth game, first victory for Ralf, congrats
Final Standings:
- 1. Ralf – 7 points
- 2.! Kai – 6 points
- 2. Ingoal – 6 points
- 4. Jens – 3 points
- 5. Nico – 1 point
! = Kai would have been in single second place due to a tie-breaker rule (the player with more resources left), but as I didn’t bear this in mind so far I’m not going to start now
Overall winning standings:
- 1. Ingoal – 3 wins (6 games played)
- 2. Ines – 1 win (4 games played)
- 3. Nico – 1 win (5 games played)
- 4. Ralf – 1 win (6 games played)
- 5. Jens – 0 wins (1 game played)
- 6. Kai – 0 wins (5 games played)

This seems like something that will really spark discussion around the blogosphere and hopefully it’ll prevent some spammers from spamming, although I doubt it: what the hell do they care about the PR of a link that spammed into my blog? It’s either hard to even get something through (multi-layer antispam) and even if something slips through it’s just a matter of time until it’s deleted – I don’t think that the PR update will even recognize this?! And what about people posting interesting stuff in comments – doesn’t such a link have any value?
I’ll abstain from installing it atm though as I value links in comments, as long as they aren’t from some spam-bot, which should hopefully be caught anyway.
On another note: this might as well prove itself useful for linking to people without giving them credit, which was impossible so far.

Google Zeitgeist 2004
Google has released it’s annual list of the most popular search terms Zeitgeist 2004.
Sidenote: Weird to see the (german) word “Zeitgeist” in an english site.

One search. all jobs
Nice job search engine indeed.com, I wonder when someone will implement something like this for my country (germany).

Blogroll
I decided it was time to “implement” a real blog-roll as it was really painful to update the link-list manually – and like everything else which is painful: you tend to not do it.
So I created a blogrolling account, deleted the old manual link-list and replaced it with the new, dynamic blogroll.
Free MacMini
Not for me I guess. Due to the fact that I don’t live within the US means that I can’t take advantage of stuff like freemacminis.com
Too bad for me, so I guess I will have to start saving and buy one with my own money in the future, or maybe not?
Inspired by sites like Save Karyn, Scrounging Git and last but not least Jeremy’s sponsored laptop I thought: “Why not? Let’s give it a try!”.
So here’s my request: Support me in getting a MiniMac, donate me some dosh (489€ for the 1.2GHz one is my goal, if the 589€ for the 1.42GHz one would come in though it would be more than fine, too  )!
Disclaimer: I know that there are more worthy causes, especially in times like these, so please don’t interpret this as disrespectful – I have already donated as much as I can to the german relief efforts!
And what’s in it for me?
I guess I should give back more than my endless gratitude to all the donators who might help me out. So, hmm, I guess there should be a raffle:
- First price: The lucky winner out of all donators will receive a graphic ad for 6 months (see my advertising page for more information) and a cool geek T-shirt (of my choice) which will be delivered to his/her home for free!
- Second price:The first runner-up will receive a graphic ad for 3 months!
- Third price:The second runner-up will receive an advanced text ad for 3 months
(If anyone wants to donate some more prices in return for a mention here, feel free to contact me at Ingoal[at]gmail[dot]com).
Finally:
- The drawing will be random!
- There’s no right to a price!
- The prices can’t be exchanged for their money value!
- I promise to use the donated money for the Mac Mini and the Mac Mini only!
- I will keep you updated about the current status of donations received!
- I will provide a list with amount donated and a backlink to your site (if desired)
- Thanks to all donators!!!

Wide gravatars are go
Tom Werner just wrote about it: the distribute gravatar proxy system is ready (read more about it here). This way the main gravatar server will be relieved a little bit and even if there’s a problem with the mainserver the gravatars will still show up just fine.
All you need to do is edit the gravatars plugin (change the url to wide.gravatar.com* where * is the query string which doesn’t need to be edited)
